An open mic event will kick the event off. It is organised by creative writing students from ATU and will feature their work.
Other attendees may also contribute their own work or a favourite piece of work. Poet Micheál McCann will read and then an ATU student will host a conversation with both poets about their poetry and inspirations. He will introduce our new Poet in Residence, Vona Groarke.
Vona is currently writer in residence at University of Cambridge. She will read from her work and be awarded Poet in Residence at Yeats Society Sligo. The term runs for two years.
